Twenty-two-year-old Beth Davidson remembers Lt. Wilson's words describing the mind-set of a stalker: Power and Control. The words roll around in Beth's head like dice in the hands of a gambler. Sometimes the gambler's fingers tighten, taking her life with it.
Motherless since the ago of twelve and estranged from her dad, Beth longs for security, love and a purpose but the threat of losing her job and hearing her dad say, "I told you so," now seem like minor complications compared to this almost daily view of the stalker in her rearview mirror.
Beth find it ludicrous when Donnie Crawford, a handsome lieutenant, suggests she apply for the Police Academy but the idea garners appeal when her original goals conflict with the simple desire to stay alive.
